Bowness on Windermere
Bowness is the largest village in the Lake District National Park.
This can be seen on any Bank Holiday as Bowness becomes the number
one tourist attraction of the Lake District.
Bowness is ideal
for day trippers as it is the only Lake District village that is
near a railway station (Windermere station).
Bowness on Windermere
gives the feel of a seaside holiday resort as it offers many visitor
amenities, but has managed to avoid the undignified aspects of a
seaside holiday resort.
Bowness is considered
as joined with Windermere making them one large village.
Bowness is a
very old village on the shores of Lake Windermere. Bowness was built
in the fifteenth-century around St Martin’s church.
You will find
many guest houses, bed and breakfasts and hotels in the area, as
it is predominantly a tourist attraction.
