Bowness is considered as joined with Windermere making them one large village. Bowness is a very old village on the shores of Lake Windermere. Bowness was built in the fifteenth-century around St Martin’s church. You will find many guest houses, bed and breakfasts and hotels in the area, as it is predominantly a tourist attraction.
